— Ingrid, explaining to Adam's ghost why he died.
Adam was a charming and charismatic everyman, who appeared to be the good-natured local detective in the typically sleepy town of East Haven. He and Ingrid Beauchamp had a lifelong crush on one another but their relationship was further complicated when he arrested her mother for murder. Soon, he became very busy at work when a series of murders and strange deaths bedeviled his previously placid township.
He died abruptly in order to restore balance after Ingrid resurrected her aunt Wendy.
After that Ingrid conjured Adam's spirit and spent a few days with him in her room. Unfortunately, Elyse used that spell to piggyback too. On the day of his funeral, Ingrid told Adam about his death and that he is a spirit. Eventually Ingrid performed a ritual to let him go.
